Imagine yourself as a poor little bug, about to be squashed by an alien human. So what do you do in your defense? You either bite, spray out venom, look all creepy or start smelling horrible if you do get killed. It’s not like you can help it. First, because it’s your instinct to do that, like a human’s instinct to cry as a baby, or blink every five seconds. Why are so many people against bugs?

“Haley! Haley,” wake up my mom said this morning as I yawned.
“You don’t have school today because it’s raining cats and dogs outside.”
“Yes!” I screamed in joy as I wiggled my feet out of the covers.
“But no iPhone, smartphone, laptop or TV,” my mom added as she numbered each device on her fingers. Then she walked out of the room. I grunted.
“Mmmm,” I said. “Your bear chocolate chip cookies are so delicious.” I added to please my mom.

I was in San Francisco, the best place in the world for a vacation. I was on a boat dock, waiting to get on the cruise. At last I got on the cruise. I saw a fisherman trawling for fish, but dolphins were going right toward the nets.

“It’s raining cats and dogs!!” I screamed. Images of beagles and poodles falling out of the sky flashed through my head. My mom just stared at me. I quickly threw on jeans and a sweater while still thinking what dog I would like. ”Honey, be careful. It’s wet outside and wear a jacket”, Mom shouted after me. Maybe once the dogs and cats flew out of the sky, they peed almost immediately and hence the wet part. But the jacket part made no sense whatsoever. I called my friends and told them it is raining cats and dogs. Like me, they screamed in delight. We all ran outside and saw….
